1,4-Butenediol major uses: through riging-closing reaction can form oxygen heterocyclic ring, mainly used to produce pyridoxol (Vitamin B6) and intermediate of furan nudeus pharmaceuticals. 1,4-Butenediol can be used to synthesis intermediate pesticide endosulfan, which was widely used at present. 1,4-Butenediol halogen ester can be used to produce bactericide and anti-adherenet for papermaking. 1,4-Butenediol can be used as additive for electroplating to achieve bright-ductile planting layer. 1,4-Butenediol can be used to produce polyester. E.g. after hydrolysising, the product 1,2,4-butanetriol(BT) can be polymerized into polybutylene terephthalate(PBT) resin, which is a highstrength, heat resistant and widely-used engineering plastic. 1,4-Butenediol can also be polymerized into vinylester copolymer, polyurethane, plasticizer and antifreezer.
